Urgent Care for Your Child’s Smile
At Turtle Bay Pediatric Dentistry, we know dental emergencies happen, especially with active kids. If you ever face a chipped tooth, knocked-out tooth, painful toothache, or other urgent issue, call us right away. Dr. Ademola Cole provides fast, gentle care that puts your child at ease and protects their smile.
Common Emergencies & What to Do
Here are some of the most common emergencies that Dr. Ademola Cole sees from families in Sachse, Garland, and Wylie.
Chipped, Broken, or Fractured Tooth
Rinse your child's mouth gently with warm water and apply a cold compress to ease any swelling. Save any tooth fragments if you can, and call us immediately. Early care at Turtle Bay Pediatric Dentistry can make all the difference.
Knocked‑Out Tooth (Permanent Only)
Find the tooth, hold it by the crown (top), and rinse off any dirt with water. Store it in cold milk or saliva, and come see us right away—before the hour is up, so Dr. Cole may be able to save it. If your child lost a baby tooth, don't try to replant it. Just give us a call and we'll advise what to do next.
Loose Tooth
A loose tooth can be swallowed or inhaled. If it's very wiggly or bothering them, gently remove it or bring them in for a safe, calm extraction.
Toothache or Mouth Pain
Rinse with warm water and check for food stuck between teeth. A cold compress can reduce pain and swelling, no heat or direct pain gels. If the ache continues, give our team at Turtle Bay Pediatric Dentistry a call right away for an exam.
Bitten Lip or Tongue
Clean it with warm water and press a cold compress gently on the area to reduce swelling. Bleeding that won't stop? Reach out to Dr. Cole for guidance, and keep an eye out if your child hits their head too.
Something Stuck in the Teeth
Try gently flossing it out, but never use sharp tools. If you can't remove the object, call our Sachse office ASAP.
Suspected Broken Jaw or Severe Injury
If your child is having trouble breathing or can't close their mouth after a blow, apply a cold compress and seek immediate medical help. Call our Turtle Bay Pediatric Dentistry team for follow-up and support.
